About Classwares

Why we started

Teachers make some of the best learning materials in the world, often late at night and on their own time. They deserve a place to sell them that respects their work and treats them fairly.

Who we are

Classwares™ is built by a family, not a giant company.

My name is Jeff and I’ve been working with computers my whole life, but we’ll get to more of that later. My wife wanted to teach since she was eight years old. We involved ourselves into our two children’s education, and they are now adults following their own career paths.

My wife taught in the classroom for 18 years. The resources and management materials she made for her own position were so good that other teachers kept asking to use them. So she started selling them, and she has been a teacher-seller for 14 years now. She and her educator friends help to inform me what teachers really need.

My wife and I have been together for over 35 years, and all those years I listened to her and her friends talk about the obstacles involved in selling lessons and resources to other teachers. Then with the recent changes it made it clear that teachers needed a place that respects them and cares about them. So I dusted off my ideas and preliminary work for what became Classwares, and I’ve been building it with every free waking moment since the beginning of October.

I taught myself to program at age 7 and have spent 40 years in the software industry. I’ve written software for Fortune 500 companies, and architected, designed and led the team that built the software that took a startup company to a billion-dollar valuation in five years. I specialize in highly secure, enterprise systems that serve millions of users every day. I also was issued 11 patents in identity protection. Security is what I know best.

We are a small family team. When you email us, it comes straight to me, and I answer it myself.

Our promises to sellers

  1. Your files are yours: You own what you make.
  2. Sell anywhere: Sell your resources anywhere else you like.
  3. A fair share: Free accounts1 keep 75% of each sale. Paid accounts ($5/month or $50/year) keep 85%, or 90% when the sale comes through the Classwares plugin. Classwares pays the card fees, and there is no listing fee.
  4. No surprises: No processing fee charged to you. Carts under $5 have one small-cart charge of $0.36, split evenly across the resources in the cart, and we publish it everywhere.
  5. A founding price: Start a Paid account before January 1, 2027, and you become a founding seller. Your founding price of $5/month or $50/year is locked in for as long as your account stays actively paid. If it lapses or you cancel, the founding price ends.
  6. Your voice: Sellers help shape how Classwares grows, and our Terms say plainly how things work.
